Privacy notice

The Stoic Strategist provides digital educational products and decision-making resources. This notice explains how we handle information when you visit our funnel, request a resource, purchase a product, or contact us.

Information we collect
When you request a resource or join an email list, we collect your email address and the preferences you submit. When you purchase, we collect your name, email address, order details, payment status, and any billing information needed to complete the transaction or calculate tax. We also receive information you choose to include in support messages.
Our hosting, email, and payment services process technical information, which can include IP address, device and browser information, visited pages, transaction identifiers, and timestamps. Consent records can include the checkbox wording, your selection, and the time and technical details associated with your submission. Email services may record delivery, opening, and link-click activity where that functionality is enabled.
Payment information is handled by the payment provider displayed at checkout. Our current checkout uses PayPal. We receive transaction information to fulfill orders, provide support, and process refunds. Please do not send payment credentials or full card numbers to our support email.
How we use information
We use information to deliver requested resources and purchases, maintain purchase records, answer support requests, process refunds, protect our services, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Where you have agreed to receive marketing, we also send practical decision-making guidance and relevant offers.
Requesting a free resource or buying a toolkit does not require you to agree to unrelated promotional emails. Course-release updates are a separate signup. We use your purchase and subscription information to avoid sending inappropriate offers, such as invitations to buy a product you already own.
Service providers and other disclosures
We use systeme.io to host funnel pages, manage contact records, and deliver email. We use PayPal for payments. These providers process information needed to supply their services. Their own notices explain their practices: systeme.io privacy policy and PayPal privacy statement.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to address fraud, protect rights, or respond to a legitimate legal request. We do not publish your contact details or decision exercises.
We may use the optional analytics and advertising tools described below after they have been configured with appropriate disclosures and controls. Their inclusion here describes planned uses, not a claim that these optional features or a cookie-settings panel are currently operating. We will update this notice to identify enabled features and provide the required choices before introducing them.
Cookies, Meta and Google tracking
Necessary technologies support functions such as security, forms, checkout and remembering your privacy choices. Optional analytics help us understand visits and improve our pages. Optional advertising technologies help us measure which advertisements lead to requests or purchases, and reach relevant audiences.
Meta/Facebook. If enabled, the Meta Pixel allows Meta to receive information about visits and events on our pages, such as a resource request or purchase. Data can include page URLs, event times, browser and device information, IP address, cookie identifiers, and purchase value and currency. Meta may associate events with information it holds, including a Facebook or Instagram account, to provide advertising measurement, personalization and targeting. Third parties including Meta may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to collect or receive information from this site and elsewhere for these purposes. If we later enable Meta Conversions API or advanced matching, information may also be sent from our server or include hashed contact identifiers, such as an email address, for matching. Hashing does not make those identifiers anonymous. We will identify those features in our settings and update this notice before enabling them; they are not assumed to be active merely because the Meta Pixel is mentioned here.
Google. If enabled, Google Analytics helps us measure page visits, traffic sources, interactions and conversions. Google Ads conversion tracking helps measure actions following an advertisement. If we enable remarketing or Analytics advertising features, we and Google may use first-party and third-party cookies or identifiers together to measure advertising and build audiences for personalized advertising. Before enabling these optional features, we will identify the features in use and provide the applicable privacy controls. We will disclose enhanced conversions, Google signals, or other additional matching features before using them. Your choices. We will provide the applicable cookie and advertising choices before introducing optional analytics or advertising tracking. These choices will be separate from email signup and purchase permission. We do not treat signing up for email or buying a product as permission for optional advertising tracking. There is currently no cookie-settings panel offered by this funnel.
You can also manage personalization through Google My Ad Center, use the Google Analytics browser opt-out, or review Meta's ad preferences in your Meta account. Industry choices are available through YourAdChoices and Your Online Choices. These controls have their own scope and may depend on your browser or account. They are provider-level choices and do not replace any consent choices we must provide before enabling optional tracking. Your browser can also restrict or delete cookies, although blocking necessary cookies may affect checkout.
Where advertising disclosures amount to a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, you may have the right to opt out. We will provide the applicable control and honor legally required browser opt-out signals. We do not describe advertising data as anonymous merely because it uses a cookie identifier rather than your name.
Please do not include sensitive workplace information, completed decision exercises, or payment credentials in public URLs or messages to advertising services.
Email choices
You can stop promotional emails through the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary purchase, access, refund, or support messages. It does not cancel an existing purchase.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here, including applicable accounting, legal, and dispute-handling requirements. We retain limited suppression information when needed to honor an unsubscribe request. We use safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention depends on the record: purchase and tax records may need to be kept for legal and accounting obligations; support correspondence is kept while needed to resolve the issue and related disputes; marketing records are used while you remain subscribed, with limited suppression and consent evidence retained where needed to respect your choices and establish how permission was obtained. You may contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Your requests
Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to object, restrict processing, receive a copy, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision. You can submit an appeal by replying to our response or emailing the support address with “Privacy appeal” in the subject. Where applicable, you may complain to the relevant regulator. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. We will handle requests under the law that applies and may ask for information needed to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or to honor your communication preferences.
Our materials are intended for adults making workplace decisions. We do not direct this funnel to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.
International customers
We offer products to customers worldwide, subject to legal and payment-provider restrictions. Jason Conley is the controller of information handled for this business. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, whose privacy laws may differ from yours.
Where EEA or UK data-protection law applies, we rely on performance of a contract to fulfill purchases, legal obligations for required records, consent for optional marketing and tracking, and legitimate interests for proportionate security and support activities where those interests are not overridden by your rights. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Where required, international transfers must use an applicable approved safeguard, such as standard contractual clauses, an adequacy decision, or another lawful mechanism. Contact us to ask about the safeguard used for your information. Any applicable regional requirements and mandatory privacy rights continue to apply. You may contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your request.
Changes
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before using information in a materially different way.
